Well he did it

Well my son did it! For quite some time now, particularly since graduation from high school, my son has been wondering about looking for anything that might catch his interest enough to pursue as a life carreer. The best that he has been able conclude is a list of things he DOESN'T want to do.

For the past month or so he has been meeting with military recruiters; first from the Marines and then from the Army. We found that even here he is not content to just settle for just any job (MOS), it has to be something that he could pour his all into and not just be going through the humdrum of sameness. In addition he really wanted to get into an area that was unique to everything else. Therefore he began to pursue the possibility of the Army Rangers. That seemed to be a possibility but not a probability (long story). With that he found himself a bit frustrated when someone suggested he check into the Special Forces, known by most as the Green Berets. The specialized training and missions caught his attention. Researching the SF requirements is daunting on the one hand and exciting on the other. It is, to put it lightly a monumental challenge to get in.

This morning our son enlisted as a Special Forces Candidate. That does not mean that he has been accepted as being in Special Forces but it does give him the opportunity to enter the program to see if he can cut the mustard.

I'm excited for my boy but continue to pray the Lord's hand upon him... And that's an entirely different story or blog.
