Had some appointments and a hospital visit in Rapid City today and couldn't get over just how beautiful a day it was. The day was so enjoyable I almost hate to see it come to an end. I seemed to posses a bit more energy and walked with a little jig in my step (not necessarily a pretty sight). In short, today I was pretty pumped.
Yesterday the weather was pretty nasty. While I appreciate the rain I wasn't real thrilled with the cold... and it was cold. It was wet and cold. What's interesting is that for the most part I was dragging. I got a lot done but not necessarily with a good attitude or with much energy. In short, yesterday stunk.
Of course I'm exaggerating a bit but for the most part it is true that the weather does affect my moods and attitudes.
I was just thinking. While weather effects are perfectly normal, I wonder just how normal it has become over the years for the truth of Christ's life to affect my day to day life. Every day is filled with choices, much of which has to do with response to the circumstances of every day life. I wonder if one day my day will be more governed by my relationship with the Lord than it is by my relationship with the weather?
